“Would you ever want this outside of a dream?” Lord Beneviento finally asked. At some point, she must have moved so she was laying pressed flush against you again, speaking into the back of your skull. Before you could begin to come up with a reply, you felt something twitch against your head where her eye would be.
Right.
“No.” You said honestly, your words beginning to slur as you succumbed to exhaustion, “I like this. You’re so warm. I still hate you, I’ve just… been slipping up lately.”
“You don’t have to hate me."
“Maybe not here,” you conceded, “but in real life…” you drifted off for a moment, watching the fireplace crackle and flicker, “this is the oddest dream I’ve ever had.”
“Maybe not here?” Lord Beneviento prompted.
“Maybe not here,” you hummed, your other hand coming up to run over the lord’s nails, picking at the chip in her polish. She let you.

It was when you grew still, your breathing slowed and you teetered on the brink of sleep that you’d feel Anya begin to shift.
Slowly, so slowly, she’d roll over, scooting closer until her forehead was pressed between your shoulder blades and her knees drew up to touch the back of your thighs. She would pause, and once she determined you were still asleep, her hands would draw up to the bottom of your sleeping shirt and grip it, holding the hem captive with long, tapered fingers that ghosted along the bare skin of your back.

Summary
The snow and extreme cold surround you as you struggle to stay conscious and move despite the bleeding wound in your side. Each step is a monumental effort: your body begins to give way from exhaustion and the cold, and you start experiencing hallucinations caused by blood loss and shock. Loneliness and fear intensify your despair as you observe tombs, crows, and dangerous structures like unstable bridges.
Amid your agony, you perceive a dark figure approaching: a woman dressed entirely in black, with a veil partially obscuring her face and a disturbing doll in her arms. The figure appears ghostly, her presence blending fear with a strange sense of protection. The black-clad woman interacts ambiguously: she touches, examines, and seems intent on helping, though with unusual and unsettling gestures. The doll, seemingly animated in your perception, adds a surreal and macabre air to the scene.
