    Summary

A series centered around a trilogy inspired by The Tide Rises, the Tide Falls by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow -- a poem about the permanence of impermanence, the constant that is change.

The trilogy follows Geralt in modern day where Chaos no longer exists in abundance. His Signs don't work, the mages can't go far from the ancient monuments that still emit some Chaos, and what remains is controlled very strictly by the ALR (Abnormal Life-form Response). All "Abnormals" (Witchers, Sources, monsters) and closely monitored by the ALR. It's a series about change, personal and impersonal, and finding one's place.

    Summary

As Jaskier stumbled away from the Dragon Mountains heading in what he hoped was the direction of Poviss (where he could get positively fucking plastered at the first tavern he came across) he wondered if this was truly it. He also wondered if perhaps, had he shown Geralt his true nature beyond some half-baked dismissals and elusions to Elven heritage, he could have spared himself this anguish one way or another. Maybe Geralt would have rid the Continent of him outright, maybe Jaskier could have been more useful had he allowed Geralt to truly see what he is capable of. Regardless, Jaskier is stumbling down a mountain alone.

Geralt made a huge fucking mistake (shocker, very much not on brand for him, etc). He regretted the words as soon as they left his mouth after entirely side-stepping his brain. Roach huffed indignantly as he approached, which, fair enough. What the fuck was he going to do?

OR: A Post-Mountain (and Leshen-Eskel [Leskel?]) fix-it featuring a Bad-ass-Part-Leshen Jaskier, Pining/Dad Geralt, Exasperated Ciri/the rest of the Kaer Morons and the happy ending that these traumatised, worthy idiots deserve.

This was such a wonderful story! It not only fixed that awful Neflix Eskel "storyline" (though it is not a strictly Eskel-centric fic), but did so in such a - frankly - fantastic way that it made for riveting reading. Really, everything in this story was an utterly satisfying read.

I'm going to use the comment I made for the last chapter I read in this series, verbatim, because it truly encapsulates my feeling on this astonishing work:

-- By all the Gods, this is one hell of a series! Everything about it... everything ... is top notch. The plot. The characterizations. The action. The dialogue. The pacing. --

So if you want a fantastic modern AU that stays true to the witchers...this is it! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

This has a fantastic twist on the witcher verse! Thoroughly entertaining, brilliantly written, and beautifully balanced between utter poignancy, fast-hitting fighting action, and heart-filling romance (with some hot erotica too). A must read! ♥♥♥♥♥
