Leaning haphazardly in his chair, fiddling with a paper airplane in his hand, was none other than her teammate, Akito. He glanced up from the plane he was toying with, his bored expression morphing into a smirk as soon as his green eyes met fiery amber ones. With that stupid cocky look on his face, he found the audacity to strike again, sending the paper plane in his grasp flying directly toward An with a swift flick of his wrist.
(In which An tries to study for a change. Unfortunately for her, Akito has other plans.)

“Shit.” Dice gingerly touches his arm, the bruise violet today. Watercolor in his skin, transparent in Dice’s hands. “God, I’m sorry I hurt you.”
Gentaro twists his arm, concern the furthest thing from his mind. The fingertips pressed into his skin in purple are as much his doing as Dice’s. Half-nude in his own apartment, in his own bed, honesty comes a little easier to him. His barriers lower.

The moment Mafuyu’s voice cut through the call, so casual and soft like it belonged there—like she belonged there—Ena’s heart clenched in a way she couldn’t ignore. It wasn’t anger. Not quite. Just that familiar sinking feeling that came every time she realized Mafuyu had pieces of herself that Ena couldn’t reach. That she trusted someone else with her quiet moments—someone who wasn’t her.
And it shouldn’t matter. It shouldn’t.
