Summary
Falling in love would be a lot less dangerous if you didn't wear your heart on your sleeve and if you hadn't won the flower-puking genetic lottery, but somehow, Sanji had managed both. That didn't mean he was going to let it happen... And certainly not to a rich, arrogant, green-haired bastard.

Summary
Sanji glanced up at him, a look Zoro hesitated to call shy flitting across his face as he smiled at Zoro, adjusting his suit coat. “Don’t get killed out there.”
“If anyone were to die in action it would be the one who refuses to use a gun,” Zoro murmured pointedly, shoving his hands into the pockets of his trousers and staring at the sidewalk below.
“I’ve made it this far. Pretty sure I’m owed a little more faith than that,” Sanji teased, flicking ash onto the concrete between them as he spoke. Zoro eyed it surreptitiously, wishing he had the guts to close the space between them, “At any rate, this war likely won’t last that long. Surely even you can manage not to fuck it up for a few months.”

Summary
“Anyway,” Zoro continued amid Sanji’s silence, “I’m not going to die.”
Sanji made a scoffing sound. “You can’t just decide that, asshole,” he said, tying off the thread. He trailed his fingertips over the jagged seam, checking for any imperfections. “You can’t cheat death.”
“We’ll see.”
To Sanji, Zoro is an enigma. An infuriating one, but one he is drawn to nonetheless. For as much self-assurance Zoro appears to have, Sanji has about as much self-doubt. If he can just understand what goes on inside that mossy head of his, maybe he can figure a few things out about himself as well.
Discovering that there might be something other than rivalry brewing between them, is something Sanji isn't quite prepared for.
(Rated M for explicit language, canon-typical violence and sexual content for later chapters).
