[The room was verrrry quiet. Too quiet.
Usually, Emmet liked the rhythm of the house. The soft hum of the fridge, the clicking of the clock, his and Ingo’s Pokemon out in the yard or just lounging around the house... but today, the only sound was the heavy, uneaven thrum of his own heartbeat in his ears. Something he could quite frankly do without.
Emmet shifted under the heavy duvet, his skin feeling far too prickly and sensitive for the fabric (a problem he hadn’t had to deal with since he and Ingo first moved here). Every movement felt like dragging a heavy train car uphill, but without all the fun.]

[Enver shifted uncomfortably in his seat, a bead of sweat trickling down his forehead despite the coolness of his study. He had been so engrossed in his work, so focused on making sure everything is perfect, after all, he’s worked so damn hard. He can’t let things go to ruin. Not now. Not after everything he’s fucking worked for.
And yet. Something managed to slip; his damned supply of heat suppressants, the little pills that kept his omega nature at bay, had run out days ago. And his hormones, so carefully concealed with a cocktail of black market chemicals, had started to flare up with a vengeance.. And now, his damned body started to betray him as he started to feel the first stirrings of that traitorous hunger.
In hindsight, it really should’ve been something he’d keep better track of.. And yet, here he fucking was. He grit his teeth, trying to ignore the growing ache that started to kindle in his abdomen.

[It was supposed to be a simple walk. A simple nice walk through the city so he could clear his head! Maybe even cause a problem or two! What he didn’t expect was to be turned into a fucking cat of all things.
Enver let out a yelp of surprise as a rogue spell struck him (damned wizards!), his body shrinking and shifting in an instant. He stumbled, his tall frame dwindling, muscles shrinking, bones condensing until with a thump, he landed on all fours on the cold cobbled floor.
Enver looked at his new form, fur bristling as he saw he had sleek black fur instead of flesh, paws where once there were hands. And a tail which lashed and flicked behind him in annoyance at the undignified transformation. This was the last fucking time he was walking past Sorcerous Sundries. Fucking wizards.
The once towering lord of Baldur’s Gate, the feared Chosen of Bane, now found himself reduced to a mere cat.]

Summary
Six and a half years after his brother's inexplicable disappearance, Subway Boss Emmet is back to his job at Gear Station full time- running the Battle Lines, organizing the schedule, manning the station, etc, etc. But despite it all, Emmet cannot help the feeling that he is being watched. Something's out there, in the dark- strange happenings have been going on in the Station recently: Rumors of disembodied voices, cold spots, and haunted subway tunnels.
But ghosts aren't real.... right?
After all, Ingo can't be dead. Emmet would just know. He's out there, somewhere, and Emmet will see him again. He has to.
