AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'M ON FIRE IT'S SO GODDAMN GOOOOD BROOOOTHERRRRRRRR!!!!!! It's like building upon the stuff that was later revealed in canon and using it to strengthen the complexity of the plot and put multiple layers of angst in, and.... ough... I am such a sucker for characters hiding issues and pretending like only they can solve their own problems. Also I liked the part where Ed licked gravy off of the ration tray.
ALSO I LOVE WHEN MUSTANG IS EVIL AT FIRST AND THEN HE REALIZES AND GOES OH SHIT IT'S ALL MY FAULT AUGHGHGHGH

Ed allowed for his words to sink in. On the other end of the train, Al would leave his hiding place, moving from carriage to carriage to make sure no civilian got any ideas.
Instead of following Colonel Roy Mustang into the military, Edward and Alphonse Elric are recruited by the Eastern Liberation Front - it changes almost nothing. It changes absolutely everything.
