Summary
Neytiri is quickly discovering that she is not as prepared as she thought she was for how much her body is changing because of her pregnancy.
She didn’t understand what it would feel like to have her body stop her from doing things she normally did with no problem. To look at her body and not recognize what it was telling her. To see her body almost like a stranger’s. It was frustrating the way it affected every part of her life. Her stomach rolled at her favorite foods, she was constantly getting sick in the middle of everyday tasks, and the thought of going hunting repulsed her.
Change was bad enough, but those changes happening to her body, something she is used to having complete control over, made it even harder. She was thrilled at the idea of having a child with Jake and starting their family, but the experience was making her feel unmoored in a way she didn’t expect.
I don’t feel like myself.
Or: Neytiri is struggling with the way her body is changing while pregnant and Jake is there to help her through it.

Summary
Jake turns to Lo’ak, leaning closer as he clutches his gun with both hands.
“I need you now,” he says. “By my side.”
His son searches his eyes, and Jake remembers a time when Lo’ak promised to always watch his back. Jake can still hear his voice asking to be allowed to follow and be Jake’s support. The excitement in the little boy’s eyes as he thought about being side-by-side with his dad.
Jake remembers responding and telling Lo’ak how he trusted him to have his back no matter what. How proud he was to have his baby boy watching out for him.
Jake’s eyes catch Lo’ak’s, trying to portray how earnest he is about what he’s going to say.
“I need my wingman.”
Lo’ak’s eyes widen and his face goes slack with surprise and Jake wonders if he’s remembering those moments from the past too. His son swallows and nods – determination sneaking into his expression.
“Okay,” he says.
Or: the battle at the end of A3 wasn't the first time Jake called Lo'ak his wingman.

Summary
Jake pushes open the bedroom door and makes his way past the bed to the master bathroom, only to find his wife already naked and climbing into a steaming hot bath. He pauses in the doorway to watch, taking in the curve of her back and butt.
She’s so gorgeous. It doesn’t matter that they’ve been married for more than sixteen years, he still feels like he can’t breathe when he looks at her. His eyes catch on her braids brushing across her shoulders, and as she settles down into the water, she lifts them and ties them off into a bun on the top of her head.
Jake clears his throat, and she looks over, giving him a smile that warms his entire body. He wheels himself over to the side of the tub, parking himself next to her head. He leans forward, and she meets him in the middle for a gentle peck on the lips.
“Hey, baby,” he murmurs against her mouth. “Got started without me, huh?”
Or: Jake and Neytiri find a few moments together in the midst of their busy day.

Summary
“Do you ever wish you could see Uncle Tommy?” Lo’ak asks. “The way you see Neteyam?”
Jake’s eyes find the glowing orb that he knows is Earth’s sun. He can’t stop the flood of memories that fills his mind of Tommy – the only family he had for most of his time on Earth. The person he’d loved most in the world before he’d met Neytiri and had his kids.
There would never be a moment where he didn’t miss him and wish he could be here too.
There are so many things Jake wishes he could say to his twin brother and it kills him that he will never get the chance to say them. The only comfort he has is how much he sees himself and his brother in Lo’ak and Neteyam. And while he hates the fact that some patterns have repeated, it gives him hope that the cycle can still be fixed.
“Every day, kid. Every single day.”
Or: an exploration of the similarities and differences between the two pairs of Sully Brothers.

Summary
Just as he finished setting up the link, the screen flashed a few times before going dark. The buzz of the pod sputtered to a stop, like an old truck on its last few miles of life. Not a healthy comparison.
Jake frowned, but before he could even think to whack some sense back into the machine, the lights came back on, and all the link data came rushing back to the screen.
Okay, then.
He glanced wearily over his shoulder, almost expecting Norm to appear out of nowhere to tell him he’d set the machine up wrong. He knows he did it right - but it’d never done that, before.
***
Jake's pod glitches. In his eagerness to see Neytiri, he ignores it.

Summary
“Neytiri…” Mo’at finally spoke up, looking at her daughter. “If you choose this path… you can never be tsahìk ! Your life will be wasted!”
Neytiri lifted her chin up once more. She was never meant to be tsahìk , that role was meant for her sister, not her. She never wanted this, never asked for anything like this.
She looked at Jake once more, her heart fluttering at the thoughts of last night, when they had each other. His touch, his kisses, his smile, his laugh… She couldn’t live without it. Between him and a role that was never meant for her, it was an easy choice to make.
“I choose him.” She said calmly, placing a hand in Jake’s chest.
Neytiri never wanted to be tsahík. She never wanted to be Tsu'tey's mate, but ever since her sister, Sylwanin, died, all of her responsibilites were thrown onto her. It wasn't fair. When she meets and falls for Jake, she is faced with a choice.

Summary
She didn’t know what to make of this Mirnatius. It confused her as much as discovering he had never bargained with a demon did. As much as the sketches of a calmer man had not matched him. She did not like not knowing. Not knowing was dangerous and she had claimed him for better or worse.
