Summary
My Villain Robert AU in chronological order.
Robert Robertson III is a missing person. Thought to be killed by Shroud soon after he did the same to Mecha Man Astral. However, he is not dead, unlike what many think. Shroud had gotten him on his side, convinced Robert of his innocence in Mecha Man Astral’s death. Now, Robert runs the Red Ring, seeking to prove his Uncle Elliot’s innocence. Dubbed ‘Savior’ by those around him, due to his penchant of bringing in ‘lost causes’ or those otherwise cast aside.
People wonder if he’s even human. Armored in metal, nobody has seen his skin, let alone his face. Those who have won’t say a word.

Summary
Malevola honestly expected this to be a prank, or kids fucking around, or fucking Red Ring. Nothing that should warrant both of them taking their time out of a Saturday night trespassing condemned buildings and generally violating the terms of Victor's parole.
What she doesn't expect is an honest bonafide ghost. The ghost of a guy maybe around her age, with a black mask over his head and a lightly armored supersuit-- the back completely scorched away, and Mecha Man's fucking symbol on his chest.
Or
Z-Team gets rallied around Robert in a much different way, because someone has already killed Mecha Man Blue.
And someone else is trying to cover it up.Bookmarked by WraithInLace

It had been looking up for the Z-Team. They were getting along, somewhat, and they had a dispatcher who seemed to give a fuck for some reason.
And then said dispatcher went missing.

"No way. No fucking way. Why the fuck would Shroud write me in his will?"
"He wrote here his next of kin; Robert Robertson III... Seems pretty clear don't you think? Usually people jump at the idea of inheriting the family business, especially one as successful as his."
Robert squinted at him. "Dude. I am NOT inheriting the Red Ring."

Summary
Robert loved his father, he really did. But the only thing which could make the destruction of the Mech and his entire legacy worse, Robert decided, would be if his dad was here to see it. He might be temporarily retired as a superhero, drowning in thousands of dollars of credit card debt, fighting through chronic pain, unable to take revenge for his father’s killer, and working as the barely respected leader of a group of superpowered assholes… but at least he didn’t have to deal with that.
Or, Robert “Robbie” Robertson II gets transported to the future to witness his son at two steps above rock-bottom. Nobody takes it well.
Except Shroud. Shroud is having a fucking field day.

Summary
After revealing he is Mecha Man, Robert Robertson loses the respect and trust of the Z-Team. When Shroud abducts the team, he gives Robert an ultimatum: surrender the Pulse or let the team die. With a one-week deadline, Robert pitches an idea. If the suit is too powerful for the Pulse, then there was only one solution: make the suit smaller. Armed with a new suit, Robert tackles Shroud's challenge head-on and with a greater risk of physical injury from the smaller suit.
But heroes get hurt. Robert is Mecha Man, more so now than ever.
And Robert won't let his team down again.
***
Or: I have a headcanon that since the Mecha Man suit is too powerful for the Pulse, then they should make it smaller to reserve power.

It’s been 4 years since the world lost the Mecha Man.
It’s also been 4 years since a 12-year-old boy named Robert Robertson went missing from his home without a trace.
With the loss of Mecha Man and no one to succeed him, it’s getting harder and harder to hold onto hope. That changes when Robert is found during a Red Ring base bust, and now he, Chase, and the Z-Team must learn to navigate their new normal.
But Shroud still runs free, and he doesn’t take kindly to anyone taking what’s his.

Summary
Mecha Man is dead.
Well, not permanently. That would require Robert to actually stay dead, and so far he hasn't found a method that will really stick. His suit is broken beyond his monetary capabilities to repair, however, so his hero career is as close to dead as it's ever been. He's just about to consider switching tactics, trying to become a hero without the suit when he's given a proposition. Become a dispatcher for SDN, and they'll give him everything he needs to fix his suit. To become Mecha Man again.
Of course he accepts. However, he doesn't realize that the job not only expects him to turn the most hardheaded, stubborn, pieces of shit villains into heroes, but also throws him directly into the path of the one family friend he's been avoiding for 15 years. With a budding crush on the local beefy tech wizard and corporate threatening to dismantle his team before they can really get started, Robert's faced with what appears to be a Sisyphean task. However, he knows he can survive long enough to become Mecha Man again.
After all, it's so much easier to survive when nothing can kill you in the first place.

Summary
But Elliot made a crucial mistake, he may have killed his dad, but he did not kill Mecha Man.
Because the Mecha Man Armor was sitting in his dad’s garage right now, absent of a pilot to put it to use. People may be mourning that Mecha Man is dead, but they are also expecting a new Mecha Man to appear.
And this mantle falls to him to pick up.
–
When Elliot Connors shot Robbie Robertson, Robert was only 11 years old. Instead of going to therapy or continuing schooling. Robert dedicates himself to becoming Mecha Man in his father’s absence. This leads to a 15 year old Robert being the Mecha Man that the SDN and Team Z will have the misfortune of dealing with.

Summary
Robert Robertson cannot die. When a bullet enters his frontal lobe and exits through his occipital, it takes roughly twenty-eight minutes for him to wake up in a puddle of his own blood—the team in hysterics.
Funnily enough, the chromosome mutation that means he cannot feel pain, fatigue, hunger, or fear is a genetic issue entirely unrelated to the generation-skipping powers.

Summary
Robert Robertson III is a dead man in the making.
Mechaman is not. The legacy will live on; even after Robert is lowered into the ground, a gravestone etched with a used name framing the soil drowning into him; Mechaman will live into oblivion.
—
TLDR: Mechaman and Robert are two different people.
Are they? No, not really. He just happens to think so. The legacy of Mechaman hangs heavy on Robert, and the crushing weight of sacrificing everything he has for heroism kills Mechaman, so they're obviously two separate people with two different issues. Obviously.-

Summary
Robert doesn't know who he is outside of the suit. He feels like there's nothing for him to live for after the explosion, and he has a bad habit of carelessly throwing himself into danger, passively hoping he'll kick the bucket. His dog, Beef, is the only thing holding him back from doing the unthinkable.
When he starts dispatching for the Z-Team, things start to change as he gets closer to them. They see him struggling and decide to help in the ways they can. He finds a family there that he never thought he'd have.
Meanwhile, Robert is getting especially close to Flambae. He keeps finding himself both dragged and drawn towards him like a moth to flame. He struggles with the guilt of not being able to tell him that he's also Mecha Man while their friendship develops. Oh, and he might be falling for him, too, and that just makes things worse. Can he even hope that things will turn out okay?

Summary
Mechaman was a family heirloom with a catch, one that you didn’t get to turn down. You take the suit, you die for it, that was the deal. So when Midnight finally fell, Robert wasn’t meant to survive. Prime didn’t, Astral didn’t.
But Robert did.
He was the runt of the legacy—he fucked it up! So why did he out of all the Mechamen survive?
Now left to rot in a supers prison, Robert goes out on a limb and agrees to join the SDN’s failing ‘phoenix program’.
All because it promised him two things:He gets his suit back.
And he gets outta this cell.Problem? They’re only interested in fixing him through a collar, a contract, and an already struggling program. As long as it means they get their big-bad mechaman to flaunt once he’s sorted.
But hey, what kinda man would he be if he turned the offer down?
So he does what he needs to get what’s promised:He follows the rules.
He plays his part.
He does exactly what they expect...Mostly.

Summary
On Friday, Blonde Blazer found a new sucker to try (and fail) to wrangle the infamous Z-Team at SDN's Torrance location. On Friday, they all bet he'd be gone by Monday. On Monday, he showed up. On Tuesday, he showed up again. On Wednesday, they got to put a face to the voice.
He was the most basic and boring man he’d ever seen in his life. Average height, average brown hair cut into an average look, with big doe eyes and even bigger bags underneath them, a freckled face supported by a frame so thin and frail looking a soft breeze might knock him on his ass. All in all, he was entirely unremarkable in any and every way. Kind of cute, but in the same way a malnourished puppy covered in mud on the side of the road was cute.
