One more year.
Just one more year until Spider officially turns eighteen and can finally be on his own, away from his annoying old man. For now, he just has to put up with his asshole father (who is trying) and his dad's new girlfriend - all while dealing with typical teenage issues such as high school, complicated relationships, romance, emotional and physical abuse, drama, and maybe just a dash of sibling rivalry.
Spider can do it - right?
But sometimes things happen and when teens are pushed to their limits; they can end up doing dangerous things without fully thinking it through - especially if it's Spider and Lo'ak together.
Luckily, Neteyam is there to keep them safe.

[RDA!Spider AU]
In which Miles was never allowed to interact with the wonders of Pandora or the Na'vi.
He is raised strictly by Nash and Mary McCosker at Hell's Gate for the first six years of his life until the RDA return and they rejoin the Administration, moving to Bridgehead City where Miles is raised as a true military kid. When he is sixteen, he is sent to meet the man who died during the first Pandoran War; the man who lead the fight against the traitor Jake Sully - his father, Colonel Miles Quaritch - now reborn as a Recombinant, loaded with all his prior memories and skills he had as a human. He is tasked to work closely with the 1st Recom Unit to hunt down and kill Jake Sully.
What Miles doesn't account for is gradually learning to love Pandora and everything it has to offer, or learn to see things from the traitor's perspective...

As Spider's 19th birthday approaches, he is captured by the Mangkwan who have been laying low after the 2nd War. He is taken back to Bridgehead, the place he thought he escaped for good - where he quickly discovers that the recom of his dead father, Quaritch - is in fact alive and well. After weeks of being subjected to various interrogation sessions with Varang, Spider is introduced to the RDA's latest project - a recombinant version of someone he lost years ago. Someone who is instilled with carefully selected and twisted memories and information; a dangerous weapon created in a short amount of time to help bring down the RDA's most wanted: Jake Sully.

Neteyam's eyes portray something strangely familiar yet unfamiliar at the same time.
His gaze holds no malice towards Spider. Not even a bit. He didn't point and laugh or whisper to the other observing victors like others had done without hesitation. The sound of the hands of the clock ticking rang through his head as they stared at one another unmoving.
Neteyam's eyes never left his own. Amber, with specks of light green carving into a cloudy, chocolate brown. A sudden wave of recognition washes over him as he can finally place where exactly he had seen that daunting look.
It was the same look he's seen in his district. A look he too shared at some point in his life. It was a look of want.
And that look of want was fixated on Spider.
