Summary
When Charlie Spring's dad gets relocated for work, Charlie and his siblings are forced to leave behind their lives in New York City and start over in a tiny town in South Carolina.
Charlie hates it.
He hates the heat, the smell, the lack of public transportation, the casual homophobia, and the fact that half the town seems emotionally invested in high school football.
Then he meets Nick Nelson.
Nick is a farm boy, a quarterback, and annoyingly nice. He's also funny, patient, ridiculously attractive, and somehow determined to drag Charlie through every small-town summer tradition imaginable.
Charlie keeps telling himself they're just friends.
Unfortunately, that becomes harder to believe with every passing day.

One hand locked into the edge of his midnight blue cape and swept it up and around in front of him as he pulled his black silk top hat deeper into his curls with the other hand.
