Summary
Prince Loki of Asgard fell from the Bifrost and perished. Lukas Eld lives a quiet life amidst his fellow humans, working as a historian for a nondescript museum, and dreaming of the Void at night. One of the dining room chairs scrape linoleum, creaking under Loki’s sudden weight. A rhythmic tapping against wood ensues. “I don’t need medicine,” Loki says. “Haven’t I made it clear enough? I told you I’m not sick, and you said you believed me. We’re beyond our days of betrayal.”
Yeah, right. Mobius turns to look at him and double-takes. In the harsh kitchen lights, his skin almost glows from the pallor. Terrible was an understatement. He looks ghoulish.
“What? You’re staring again,” Loki says.
Mobius bites the inside of his cheek. “Are you sure you’re feeling alright?”

OR: Upon discovering that Loki is hiding an illness, Mobius decides to grant him space. That is, until his guise is forcibly ripped—but there is more than sickness beneath.

Summary
Loki had always been very good at deciding what mattered.
It was a survival skill, honed young and sharpened often: choose the important thing, discard the rest, and keep moving. Pain rarely made the cut. Pain was common, expected, easily rationalised. Pain was something you endured quietly, because reacting to it only invited questions, and questions—historically—had never ended well.
So when the blade slid between his ribs, low and to the left, slipping past bone with an unpleasant intimacy, Loki noticed it only long enough to register that it would be inconvenient later.

Asgard is gone. The survivors are packed onto the Statesman, drifting between crises with nowhere permanent to land and far too many people depending on things holding together. Loki handles this the way he handles everything: efficiently, quietly, and with absolutely no regard for his own limits.It is, objectively, a terrible plan.
