The thought comes to him randomly, as they stand side by side while exiting the paddock. Oscar looks on as the champion signs the few photos he’s handed, fingers working efficiently around the pen, dragging it over items that are passed his way.
Huh.
Max’s hands are hands. A man’s hands, big- or probably bigger than his own at least, though not particularly out of the ordinary. Strong, capable, sure. But still. Why can’t he get them out of his head?
Or: Oscar keeps looking at Max's hands. They keep distracting him, pushing him to question everything he's always considered unshakable, including himself.
