Maybe it was Matt and Dan's impending retirement, as they had started asking him some uncomfortably pointed questions about children and pregnancy. Maybe it was Nicky's brand new German citizenship, tying him forever outside the country.
Or maybe it was the fact that Kevin Day had been traded to Chicago almost a year ago and he and Aaron still hadn't done more than one stilted coffee meet up three months after he moved.
