Eri stayed beneath the bed, her hands clasped over her mouth, smothering her cries, snot between her fingers and lips. Tears ran on either side of her splotchy cheeks.

So these flashes he'd been getting? Of all sorts of different scenery and eras and of Shouta? Well, if he couldn't have the real thing, Hizashi was more than happy to let his imagination run wild with whatever it wanted to come up with. And he really, really had thought it was his imagination.
There were a few times he'd even laugh and tell Shouta about the things his mind had come up with. “Once I imagined we were fishing together in this really murky pond!” or “Hey, I think you'd look so cool in Samurai armor – wha'do'ya think?” and even “Oh, oh, I had a dream the other day that I was a fancy noble and you were my bodyguard!”
Shouta always rolled his eyes and looked exasperated. Usually he scowled and told Hizashi to focus on the present, please and thank you. Hizashi laughed each time, but he enjoyed the day dreams too much. Shouta always looked at him so softly in them.
He never looked at him like that in real life.

“You got hit by a car,” Aizawa growls as he inspects the crushed hand. Illogical child doesn’t even flinch.
“Well—” Hitoshi splutters, face red with frustration as he looks down to the kitten in his lap. “She was gonna get run over!"

Summary
Shouta’s life had been anything but perfect, but the moment he adopted Eri things started to fall into place. Even through all the trauma she endured, she was adjusting to her new life with her new family. But when school starts, Shouta worries how this new complication will affect her.
Meeting her teacher; a blonde, tattooed, and pierced loudmouth didn’t do much to ease his worries. However, overtime he realized what a wonderful person Hizashi Yamada could be. Now their family starts to go a little more with each new addition. And perhaps that is exactly what they both needed.
