    Summary

    “No,” she gasped, taking off in its direction. “Don’t— don’t leave me again!” she pleaded one more time.

    It was a blur of adrenaline and emotion. She was moving before she could think — a shadow across the sleeping city, her feet pounding against concrete, then gravel, then tile. Her eyes locked on the glowing blue above her.

    “Jinu!” she cried. “Please!”

    Rumi didn’t know what she was chasing anymore — a ghost, a miracle, or a mistake, but didn’t care. She couldn’t care, she couldn’t even think, because she had lost him once.

    She would not lose whatever was left of him, too.

    Or,

    Jinu came back from the dead with her name on his lips — and now Rumi, who once held his soul in her hands, must learn how to love him out loud in a world that never knew he stayed.

    Summary

    Happy endings are for fairy tales, the ones they make up to reassure children, much unlike the way a considerable amount of folklore ends in tragedy, a bit too much akin to what Rumi has known her whole life. Fate has another thing coming for it if that's the story it wants; she was taught to fight as soon as she could walk, and she's not about to back down now.

    Or, in which the author delves into life after the events of the movie, wherein Rumi and Jinu fight for their happy ending, learning and growing together and discovering what it means to be human, together.

    “I can’t wait to see you on that stage tomorrow.”

    Rumi smiles, relieved, and heads off again; so glad that Jinu is on board with her plan. But as she walks away, she replays that last moment again in her head, and falters.

    Summary

    Nora, an elf with secrets, finds herself bound to strangers after escaping an illithid ship. Among them is a vampire whose charm barely conceals his pain. Though he’s forgotten their shared past, Nora remembers—and she keeps that knowledge hidden.

    As they travel, battling mindflayers, goblins, and their inner darkness, Nora and Astarion grow closer. But secrets run heavy, and when Astarion begins to glimpse memories through their strange connection, the truth threatens to tear them apart. Trust, once lost, is hard to regain—and Nora must decide if she can ever tell him what really happened the night he died.
    ~~~
    I staggered back, my breath catching as Astarion’s fingers curled tightly around my arm. His grip was firm, almost painful, his eyes alight with an intensity I hadn’t seen before. The soft, mocking smile was gone, replaced by something raw and barely contained.
    “Do you have any idea what you’re doing?” His voice was a harsh whisper, his lips barely an inch from my ear. “Do you realize what’s at stake here?”
    I met his gaze, my heart hammering in my chest. His eyes—dark, stormy—held me captive, filled with an anger I couldn’t comprehend. Anger, and something else. Fear.
    Summary
    When Astarion comes to in the glaring brightness of the midday sun, he thinks he's died for the second time. Or perhaps it's an illusion. A hallucination.
    But no, it's none of that. The world has simply gone mad. The old rules are gone, new ones have been slapped on instead, and no one has bothered to explain anything to him.
    Before Astarion has time to process any of this, he's thrown into adventure with a bunch of strangers – emphasis on strange. But it's all right. He'll survive. He always does, whatever it takes.
