The King doesn't chuckle and he doesn't even look to be quietly laughing inside as he often does around Duncan, his face serious as he briefly turns to him. "There is some relief in that, is there not? No matter what happens, no matter what the night takes, the Sun will still rise upon a new day. There's always a new morning and life goes on."
...
Dunk and Egg visit Dragonstone and King Baelor is not having a very good time.

Dottore threw his head back and laughed, feeling feverish and slightly deranged. "Oh, Regrator, we'll get along well! Just don't die or embezzle my research founds. Both will end with you six feet under."

Summary
It had occurred to Dunk in those final moments that they would probably not recover his body, that he would be nought but ash by the time the fires were brought under control. But that thought had oddly comforted him in a way, that there would be no grand funeral for the Lord Commander who had failed.
Failed to save more from the fire, failed to stop Aegon in the first place. Who knows, maybe his failure had even begun back in the hedges, maybe something he had done or not done had made Aegon the man who had done..this.
He would do anything to go back and fix it, had been his last thought before the sensations shifted from heat to cold, from fire to waves, from pain to panic.
or, dunk perishes in fire at summerhall and washes up on the sands of dragonstone. dragons still roam the skies, rhaenyra targaryen still lives and dunk quickly discovers he's not the only one lost in this time.

Summary
Baelor Targaryen died on the Fields of Ashford Meadow, but he woke in 93AC, as a boy of five in Dorne, a younger brother named Maekar in his arms. He's too young, too powerless, and too Dornish to even begin to grasp how he might alter the history stretched before him. Whether he is in the Heavens or the Hells, he knows he must make the best of the knowledge and skills at his disposal and end the Dance of the Dragons before it can start.

Summary
There is something wrong with Maekar. Baelor has known it from the moment of the first charge, when the horn sounded and Maekar… did not ride. Did not move at all. It is difficult to see what he is doing exactly, through the thick fog, but it is clear he is not moving.
Baelor shifts targets, taking Aerion off his horse in a shower of spear shards before Aerion and Dunk can even meet. He looks once at Maekar, still on his horse, before he wheels around. He cannot focus on Maekar. This is not like Redgrass, his task now is not to reach Maekar, not to defend Maekar. Not to help. Here, they are on opposite sides, and Maekar… whatever is wrong with him, it’ll keep until Baelor has the chance to deal with it.

Summary
From the time of the Andals arrival in Westeros, and the beginning of knighthood in the kingdoms, it is a well-kept tradition for knights to not only swear their oath to the seven, but to preserve a record of the great feats of their own master and his predecessors by way of adding in lines. As such, the lineage of knight to squire is preserved through the memorization and passing of these vows, and while the words are kept secret from all but their own cohort, knights who share the same oathkeeping lineage...
... There are only a handful of famed chivalric lineages that are confirmed to still exist today, most notable amongst them is the oath taken by the Dragonknight Ser Aemon Targaryen, currently preserved by his three known squires, King Daeron Targaryen the Second, his son Prince Baelor Targaryen, and Ser Robyn Rhysling. As with most lineages, it is likely there are other knights within the cohort , but those names have since been lost to time.

Summary
“I… don’t rightly know what it was that I did that brought me here in the first place, sir.”
“Be a great help with Aegon, for one.” Baelor moved some, ostensibly to reach the serving plates set on the table beside them, and his arm brushed against Dunk’s. The beef he was turning over suffered a little at the contact. “Putting up with my family’s antics, for another.”

Dunk is on a beach vacation with the Targaryens. He's still trying to piece together the chain of events that led him here, but, well — he might as well enjoy the sun.
