Summary
It’s been four months since Soap found out exactly how bad stims affect him. Four months since the 141 had the worst scare of their life, thanks to a miscommunication of epic proportions.
Four months, and Soap is finally, finally getting his personal space back. (Sort of. Not really. He doesn’t mind all that much.)
Four months, and Simmons is casually talking to him in the mess hall after training with the rooks, mentioning something about their old TO coming back to base, when Price, Ghost, and Gaz all freeze up.
Which is a little weird, because— well, for two reasons. One, because that’s just a weird reaction for the 141 to have in general. and two, because—
—because Soap doesn’t remember ever having this guy as his training officer.

Dabi could see the confusion, panic, fear, and tears swimming around his eyes, but Dabi remained still and calm as he let himself be stared at for however long Hawks needed. Dabi had never seen the hero show so much emotion; he’d seen the man angry, pissed beyond belief... he’d seen him joyous, excited, hyper, happy, but he’d never seen Hawks scared, terrified, like he was at that moment. He’d never seen the man cry or heard him make anything close to a bird chirp like he had just did moments before. Dabi had never seen Hawks so... broken.

Or, Hawks wakes up in Dabi's bed after having a panic attack and... proceeds to panic. Again.
Cuddles ensue.

Dabi sucked in a gasping breath, unsure of when he’d stopped breathing in the first place. The room was hotter than ever, and his whole body felt like it was soaking wet. The ceiling fan was wobbling, and Dabi had the thought that it wasn’t supposed to be moving like that, before he noticed the ceiling itself was wiggling too. He shut his eyes, the darkness a welcome relief, even if all it did was make everything in his head a little bit brighter.
