V and Judy have fled the polluted, crime-ridden streets of Night City, seeking a new life together. V's future is bleak, however. She's facing a literal death sentence with only six months to live. Judy refuses to accept this, insisting they chase down every lead they can find in a desperate bid to find a cure. But as they embark upon their journey, they will not only face the realities of life and death, but will be forced to confront the question that haunts them both: how strong can a promise be?

This is a canon-divergent AU that offers both a pseudo-retelling of the events of Cyberpunk 2077 and a coming-of-age story, told from the perspective of twelve year-old Judy Alvarez. Jackie’s the local misfit, Maiko’s the school bully…you get the idea.
