    Summary

    This is the series for Surround Sound and related works. They are in chronological order, but can all be read stand-alone.

    SS is a directly-post-game slice-of-life series of vignettes about a Tavflayer (named Moss) and the Emperor. It focuses on character development for the pair and their companions as they work on rebuilding the city, with Moss learning how to be a proper illithid and the Emperor learning that he doesn't need to be such a guarded self-sufficient loner all the time. A little bit of drama and hurt/comfort, but mostly fluff, as the point of it was to give the Emperor a happy ending.

    TM takes place 5 years later, and has a more serious long-form/plot-focused storyline. It involves the squids and a selection of their companions journeying to the country of Tethyr as they attempt to reclaim the Shield of Silvam for the Knights. Heavy on the hurt, but there will be a happy ending. If you prefer the Emperor's more detached, pragmatic, 'gaslighting girlboss' side, he resumes those shenanigans in this one.

    Adjusting to life as a mind flayer is difficult, especially when Moss feels emotions with their entire body, and the thoughts of strangers keep physically bumping into them. The mixed opinions of the public - and of their companions - certainly aren't helping, either. But the battle is won, and at least the Emperor is here to mentor them as they help him rebuild the city.
    Maybe he'll even hold their hand.

    A post-game fix-it story about learning to be illithid, but also rebuilding, reconnecting, and rediscovery. Everyone deserves to be happy, the Emperor most of all. Grab a page of acrostics, a bowl of soup, and maybe a toothbrush for the nauseatingly teeth-rotting fluff of this absolute character worship novel I've written for our sorely misrepresented big squid.

    Established post-game Emps/illithid genderless Tav, second-person POV via Tav, NOT a reader/self-insert/blank slate Tav story.
    M rating is only for chapter 11. Updated with better formatting and a bunch of art! Complete. <3
