    Nico wasn’t a doctor, but he was pretty sure that he was dead inside. Or at least, he was, until a certain son of Apollo started serving him coffees twice a day.

    Camp Half-Blood builds a coffee shop in camp after the war against Gaia. Nico likes coffee, as well as a certain blonde barista whose love language is latte art. Nico and Will begin to grow closer, and Nico realises that Will is unlike anyone he has ever met before. Feelings emerge, coffees are consumed, and Nico is a very confused Italian born in the 30s who desperately needs some hugs.

    “Definitely a significant annoyance,” Nico grouches and shoves playfully at Will.

    Will laughs, loud and clear – If sunlight could be a sound, Nico thinks that would be it.
    Will grabs the assaulting hand and pulls. Nico stumbles forward, their hands sliding into each other’s and the motion brings them close – close enough that Nico can count the freckles on Will’s cheeks.

    “Nico,” Will says, their eyes meeting. His voice is gentle, quiet, and so, so patient. “What’s wrong?”

    Nico, Will, and a handful of other campers return to camp as adults to help Chiron train the new demigods. It doesn’t go any worse than one might imagine … until a friendly sparring match between Nico and Percy goes awry. Honestly, Will thinks it’d be a much easier situation to handle if one of them just got stabbed.

    Regardless, it’s far from the first time Will has helped Nico through his PTSD.

    The flowers blooming in Will’s lungs were poetic, really, if not for the fact that they were killing him. And the cure? To surgically cut out his unrequited feelings for one Nico di Angelo. Real poetic, huh?
