Summary
Three years following the settlement of the village, New Asgard’s political climate takes a turn for the worst.
A fact that is not at all aided by Loki’s sudden, inexplicable tendency toward seemingly senseless acts of violence. Even less so by his outright refusal to speak to Thor about the matter.
Something has to give. Unfortunately for everyone involved, this happens sooner rather than later.

They sat in silence a while longer, before John had an idea. “I’m gonna start this off by saying you can shoot the thought down with no hard feelings whatsoever, Sherls, but… if you’re unsure, and you want to find out, we could run an… experiment?”
“Experiment?” Sherlock repeated, shuffling a little to glance back at John, “What kind of experiment?”
“Well,” he replied, “we could test out different types of kiss, and you can see how they make you feel. If you enjoy it, we can do it again, if you don’t, we add it to the ‘never’ pile.”

Blinking, the doctor shook himself and caught up, laughing at the other’s disgruntled expression and apologising. He kept up with the detective the rest of the way back to Baker Street, but his mind was still staring at the advertisement.
He knew exactly what he wanted to give Sherlock for Christmas.

Post Sign of Four, canon divergent but spoilers up to part 10Following one hell of an adventurous year, and the last-minute scramble of the previous Christmas, John realises that he wants to do something extra special this year for Sherlock (and perhaps, just maybe, confess to him in the process).
A plan forms that he hopes to surprise the detective with, but between a festive-themed string of burglaries, helpful but teasing friends, and the strange mood that Sherlock seems to be increasingly stuck in, can he pull it off and give Sherlock Holmes the Christmas he truly deserves?

There’s an odd sort of dissonance when your feelings differ from someone else’s.
Crowley had felt it all throughout his long, immortal life. He felt it in Heaven, that discolored confusion seeping through his core. He felt it in Hell, the gap where empathy should be filling itself in with exhaustion. He felt it on Earth, the weight of creation heavy in his eyes, never reflected in the growing, conscious gaze of every passing mortal.
He knew this dissonance well and he named it loneliness.
