Summary
There's nothing that can prepare you to waking up in a bed that isn't yours, in a room that isn't yours, and with an animal that isn't your partner, or belongs to you, sleeping on you chest.
But, as Nagisa came to learn pretty quickly in these past few months acting as a Phamton Thief, is that the metaverse rarely gives you any warning about when things are about to change.

Summary
Something is wrong.
Sunday can tell as much from the moment he wakes up, eyes fluttering open to the soft light the Express uses to mimic morning. It's a sight he’s grown accustomed to, yet today it leaves him with a knot in his throat, with clammy palms sticking to his bedsheets. It is when he draws his first breath of the day, only to find it uneven, that an inkling of something sinks into his bones.
He’s sick, he realizes, and with it comes the fluttering of his heart in his chest, abnormal and abrupt. A rhythm disrupted.
Or: Sunday gets sick, but decides to hide it, not wanting to ruin the crew's plans to go to a karaoke joint. This, of course, blows up in his face.

Summary
“I don’t possess the spirit of the Trailblaze,” Sunday would say. “This is an opportunity I am immensely grateful for, however brief, and one I promise not to take for granted.”
The echoes of the past are too loud to ignore. Seeking refuge on the Express, hurting and distrustful, eyes of red forever haunting his dreams-
Dan Heng remembers too much. It is all embedded in Permanence, the good and the bad, and while time erodes even the hardiest scales it does not soften Remembrance’s bite. He took a first step, too, all those months ago, a first unsteady step onto this train and amidst people he didn’t feel worthy of.
