Summary
It is 1666, and London’s been burning for over two days. Crowley knows because he’s received a commendation for the blaze and had quickly popped over to see what he was receiving credit for.
When he arrives in London, he discovers Aziraphale defending St. Paul's Cathedral from the fire. However, a mishap forces Aziraphale and Crowley to flee the flames, and Aziraphale becomes grievously injured in the process.

“Took a bit of a tumble, I’m afraid,” Aziraphale said. “But, well. What’s done is done.”
“What’s done - ?”
“Now that I’m no longer beholden to a rather arbitrary moral code, I have to ask: Do you pay taxes? Actually, more importantly, do you think I can stop paying taxes now? That seems like a sufficiently demonic thing to do. Refusing to do my civic duty and whatnot. Quite devious, I’d argue.”
This was, in hindsight, not the most sensitive way of breaking the news.

Summary
There were half a dozen strange, uniformed men in Aziraphale’s bookshop the first time Crowley dropped by spontaneously post-Apocalypse.
His first thought was that the men were of the unscrupulous sort, the kind who showed up sometimes and implied unsubtly that Aziraphale might be better off moving his shop somewhere else. Or that they might be angels, come to drag Aziraphale back to Heaven by his bowtie, only he had a hard time imagining the Archangel Fucking Gabriel in a polo exactly that shade of blue.
Either way, Crowley was ready to go down fighting.
[Aziraphale gets an alarm system installed in his bookshop. It's kind of a disaster]

Summary
The part Crowley couldn’t bear, the very worst part, was that it was all his fault.
And not in that stupid self-flagellating ‘oh wah this random series of events is all my fault’ way. In the very literal ‘I made a horrible mistake and now someone I care about is suffering because of what I very directly and specifically did’ way.
But to see it, to understand how badly he had fucked up, you had to start at the beginning.
