Summary
He flips Neil’s phone open and scrolls through the call history. It’s not a long list; his own name is at the bottom, then there’s a call from Nicky one from Dan. There’s an outgoing call from Neil’s phone to Andrew’s – that day they went to Atlanta – and one to a number that isn’t saved but that Andrew recognises as Bee’s.
And then there’s a call from an unknown number, no more than an hour ago.
He wants to call it. He wants to call it and demand where Neil is, wants to find out whoever the number belongs to and bash their head into a wall, break every bone in their body until Neil is back with them.

Summary
Dan and Wymack manage to condense Neil’s description to a single sentence, which they rattle off like the early morning traffic report to every hospital and police station in the tri-state area. The first time Wymack says, “Hello, is this the Binghamton General mortuary? I'm looking for a Neil Josten, red hair…” the bus goes apocalyptically silent until Wymack ends the call and says, “Nothing.”
“Nothing,” Nicky repeats hoarsely, and bursts into tears.

Summary
Neil has his eyes clenched tightly shut, his entire face screwed up, every muscle in his body tense and taught with a herculean effort to stop shaking. He was shaking when he woke up, he was shaking when he stumbled his way out of bed into the bathroom, but he swears he almost shook all the way apart when he caught his own reflection in the mirror.
Dead eyes stared back at him.
or:
Neil has a nightmare and, despite his best efforts to handle it on his own, Andrew is there.
