“Hermes, you may fool others with your lies, but that’s not working here with me,” Telemachus warned, ruffling his lover’s hair, and disrupting the hard work Hermes had been putting into distracting himself with the prince’s touch and scent. Hermes glanced up, pouting playfully.
“Really truly nothing darling, when have you ever known me to have an issue?”
Stop asking.
His prince didn’t know what he was pushing for, and neither of them would want it opened up so they just needed to drop it.

Summary
It had been so natural. The shift between god and mortal, to friends, then to… this. His teeth worried the skin of his lip as he turned back to the mirror. He studied the map of freckles in an attempt to center himself. It was hard to accept the god's opinion of him, even on a good day. There was no secret of the gods playing with mortals. Enjoying the company for moments, even months, yet those stories always seemed so harsh. Coercion, trickery, and assault are just some of many ways the beings above played with them.
Hermes wasn’t like that. Not with him. Not with this. It felt like power was transferred when they were together. The moment Hermes had his sandals hit the Ithacan soil, he would fall to his knees before even suggesting Telemachus lower his head to the immortal.Was that natural?
Was a god capable of being so devout?

Living in a palace is nothing special. Not when the rooms and halls are all built by a man you’ve never known. One you should know… when everyone else seemed to know him but you.
Telemachus sighed as he leaned back on the hind legs of his stool as his hair dangled from his head. Across the floor, a man lounged on his bed, adorned in a helmet of gold. Dappled wings of white and yellow sprouted from the sides of his head, in a way Telemachus couldn’t ever tell if they were a part of his helmet or his body.
“Are you sure you can’t tell me more about him?”
