The last thing Q sees is the light.
White and hard against sun-cracked mud, it lashes across the viewfinder, sudden and stinging like a slap.
He is not supposed to be here. Then again, most of his job is to be in places he’s not supposed to be.

A wall riddled with bullet holes like punctuation.

Two boys running barefoot towards the gap between compounds.

A glimpse of a poppy field, a bright swath of paint dragged across the murky reality.
The world drops into a silence pulled tight with dread. His body sends a warning in the form of a shiver down his spine. He ignores it.
Focus. Aperture. Breath. Hold. Frame.

Q is a photographer. Broadly speaking, his subject is war.
This line of work lands him in trouble more often than not.
This time, he is almost sure he will not make it out alive.

Summary
It happened on a Thursday, which really should have been the first indicator that something horrible was bound to open. Who offers to go out on a Thursday night to get drinks, knowing you’d have to get up the very next morning? And the worst of it all. He wasn’t a secret operative bent out on bringing down the government. He wasn’t an assigned assassin who decided to keep him alive, choosing instead to torture him in the worst way possible. He was just a terrible person who did a terrible thing. Plain. Simple.

Alastor didn't know how he let himself be talked into these things.
Truly, the devil must have a silver tongue of persuasion – how else could one explain how he'd managed to convince the Radio Demon; feared Overlord, serial killer and cannibal – to allow himself to be tied nude to their bed, spread to the world (not quite, but spread to Lucifer's rooms), like a chicken ready to be stuffed?
He felt utterly ridiculous.
And humiliatingly aroused.

Summary
Churches were stuffy, hypocritical places. Alastor and Lucifer thought the same even though they hadn’t yet had a chance to speak on the subject; Alastor hiding amongst the convent for safety from the law, and Lucifer hiding as a Priest because he’d been interested in the murderous omega that kept leaving messages for him.
Funny, how he found him here. All trussed up in garb for heaven, for piety… and he’s been begging for the Devil’s attention, scrabbling for some way out during his entire trove across the southern states.
The Devil has never been quite unkind as they say, but this omega— mortal, so determined to reach him despite his earthly bounds. It spoke to him, called to him enough to escape hell momentarily. Just long enough to hopefully stake his claim.
