A new human, inexplicably, shows up on Erid, and Ryland Grace has to remember how to be a good host. Considering he hasn’t seen another human in about a decade, and this human is both distractingly handsome and incredibly traumatized, it’s safe to say that this might be a challenge… especially with Ryland still working through his own issues, even all these years later.
But he saved the entire world, so, how hard could it be to save one more man?

Simon jerked away from him with a snarl. “You’re gonna get hurt. I can’t control myself.”
“Then let me help you.”Four months ago, the Eridians found a human welded into a metal box on the bottom of an ocean made of human blood, and somehow that's not the weirdest thing about the man. Even after they let him out of quarantine, he doesn't talk much, and Grace keeps a cordial but distant relationship with him--until he gets sick with some mystery illness and Grace gets tasked with helping him recover, because surely he knows what to do. (Spoiler alert: he doesn't. But he figures it out.)

Years of pressure from home and being a burden on everyone had created a need for an escape, that's all it really was. Things started to look better once he met Saiki and the gang but the pressure never truly let up. When he and Kuboyasu Aren became friends things just clicked, and during moments when they were together nothing seemed to matter. Shun felt safe. However the ugly guilt and shame driven monster that is locked deep inside Shun never leaves.
