    Summary

Stoick dies. His banished son, Hiccup, is sent for as the role of Chief falls to him. But in his five year absence, a mythology has sprung up around him on the island of Berk. Parents tell their misbehaving children that he and his dragon army will come and take them in the night; warriors ascribe violent storms not to Thor, but to Hiccup; and fishermen swear they’ve seen him flying across the Archipelago. No one knows what to expect of his homecoming, but whatever they get, it can’t be good. Can it?

Bitten by an unknown dragon and forever changed, Hiccup learns fate can be crueler than he ever imagined. Now he finds himself haunted by uncontrollable powers and desperate for an impossible cure.

After a near-fatal mistake, Hiccup vanishes. Fleeing Berk with Toothless, as the bite awakens something dark and untamed within him. Presumed dead, he disappears into the mists, knowing he can never return without endangering not only himself, but his dragon... and his people.

Over the next six years, whispers spread: of a monstrous, nameless rider who frees captured dragons and burns hunter camps to ash, leaving only the blackened earth and obsidian scales of a dragon no one seems to recognize, or so they say. Some have taken to calling him a child of the Gods. Others, a curse sent from Hel to plague the living—riding into every battle with an army of undead dragons at his back. They call him Ragnarok.

    Summary

"Exile still seems the best option, Stoick..."

Stoick should have known better. While he didn't know much about his son-especially now-he knew the boy was clever. It should have been no surprise when a guard burst into the Council Meeting and revealed that Hiccup had escaped the cell Stoick put him in...hours after the boy was revealed to have saddled a dragon.

Hiccup is gone, and so is the beast.

They search, but do not find him. Berk falls asleep one night and awakens in the Great Hall, where the torches come to life and cast an image of their isle on the wall, from which floats Hiccup's voice, years younger.

AKA, Hiccup forfeited the final challenge, leaving Astrid with the right to kill the Nightmare. Story picks up in the Race to the Edge era, except Berk never learned the truth of dragons, no one knows how Hiccup really lost his leg, and stories of a hooded 'vigilante' riding a Night Fury have been long whispered...and Berk will see it all unfold.

Stoick the Vast and Berk watch How to Train Your Dragon...and beyond.

    Summary

After Will Byers returns to Hawkins after living in California for five years, his life turns upside down. Going back to his past life — a life he thought was long gone — comes with great struggle Will tries to convince everyone (himself included) it’s just some seasonal depression that’s going to wear off once fall is over.

Turns out it’s anything but a seasonal depression, as Will begins to feel like he’s going insane — feeling like he’s haunted by the ghost of his past, struggling to eat anything as food looks like poison, and with a good night’s sleep becoming a thing of the past.

And it certainly doesn’t help that Mike Wheeler keeps staring at him from across the hallway like a creep. He keeps staring instead of talking to Will, instead of making things right after ghosting him years ago.

Because despite once being inseparable, now Will sees Mike as nothing but a cowardly stranger, who didn’t have the guts to write him one last letter saying he didn’t want to keep in touch anymore. Or at least that’s Will’s point of view.

TW. viewer discretion is advised, this work is a tough read that gets emotional and violent at times. please stop reading if it is too much for you.
