Summary
They stood face to face in the middle of a clearing. The dim light of the moon barely allowed Sherlock to see the glassy terror in John’s eyes and the sweat that glistened off his forehead. His nose was bleeding again, blood dripping in a slow stream from his right nostril.
They were both gasping for air, John’s eyes locked on Sherlock’s. There was no recognition there, just wild animal fear.
Time stood still for an eternal few seconds, and Sherlock took a shaky breath. “John—”
Spell broken, John spun and bolted back into the woods.
Still heaving for air, Sherlock took off after him.

He’s always been just John Watson.
You can glean very few things from that name in all its simplicity—for one—it’s one of the most common names for a boy. Taken in isolation, it’s not something that anyone would remember.
Hell, he doubts he would!
Sherlock Holmes however, it’s a name that catches anyone off guard—anyone who hasn’t moulded the grooves of its syllables onto their tongue, like John had the moment he had heard it.Their names reflect the people who wear them in that sense.

Summary
When Thorin realized what Bilbo had done, realized that the hobbit had traded his Arkenstone, he saw fire. And Bilbo, being so incredibly small, was easy enough to throw from the Rampart.
The company leaves Erebor, seemingly forever.
10 years after Thorin 'killed' Bilbo, he breaks from his dragon sickness, sick at what he's done. He runs to the Shire, hell-bent on paying his respects to his burglar, ashamed at killing him over a stone.
But what will Thorin find in Hobbiton?
