She had to see Glinda. There was no way magic could erase a love as deep as theirs. Glinda would remember that, as soon as they were in the same room together. Elphaba was sure of it. She wouldn’t allow herself to consider anything else.
Or: Two years post DG, Glinda the Good disappeared. Now she’s back, claiming she was held prisoner by the Wicked Witch of the West. This is news to Elphaba.
Upon reaching the Emerald City, Elphaba finds things are worse than she could have imagined-Glinda has almost no memory of the last two years and she’s afraid of Elphaba.
