Summary
Dende, isolated for over a century as Earth’s Guardian, becomes emotionally exhausted and detached after repeatedly losing everyone he cares about. Piccolo remains his only consistent presence, visiting every six months with quiet, practical loyalty rather than emotional reassurance.
Over time, Dende’s suppressed loneliness breaks through and confesses something Piccolo can't exactly promise which eventually turns their relationship into something much more.
