“Baby, It’s not zipping up,” She said finally, letting go of the bunched fabric. Chloe felt her heart beat quicker as she looked down at the dress, smoothing the fabric slightly.

There were other moments like this to look forward to. Random movies on friday nights. Surprise hugs in the middle of the hallways. Little sleepovers where the girls would curl up in the same bed, spending hours whispering secrets, and stories under the covers. After all, Red couldnt let herself crave these interactions. That would make her look weak, pitiful. She couldn't allow herself to become dependent on Chloe, on anyone for that matter.

If someone had told Chloe a year ago that her mother would ask her to move to an entirely new world, she would have laughed. But it was a fact. This was happening. She was going to live with her mother’s new lover. Who, by coincidence, was her. And she was the Queen of Hearts. The woman famous for the words, "Off with their heads." This had to be some sort of fuck joke, right? Hahaha.
Right? ... No.
In two days, Chloe Charming would be heading to Wonderland. There, she would officially meet Bridget. Bridget? Yes, that was the name of the Empress. Who could have known?
And unofficially, her future stepsister. Red. Who names their child after a color?
Apparently, Bridget does.
And how did Chloe feel about all this? She didn’t know. She was going to protect her mother. To make sure Bridget could take good care of her. To ensure Ella’s happiness. That’s what she kept telling herself, but honestly, she didn’t have a choice. Her grandfather was busy with Chad. She was only 17, already graduated from Auradon Prep. She was still a kid. And she didn’t feel like dealing with more paperwork.So she was just going underground. How bad could it be? After all, the place was called Wonderland.
