Summary
The shame she felt before came from being a princess in exile, unable to return to her kingdom and rightful place on the throne. The shame she felt now had a dual source - one stemming from being said princess, from a bloodline directly responsible for so much destruction, the other one from having such traitorous thoughts in the first place. Was being shown some gentleness, some acceptance and understanding really enough to turn her back on her own family?
