Threads of Life and Shatter points drew towards him as though they were a moth attached to a flame- doomed to end them all. When Thorn wakes up, hurting all over and lacking the memory of where he is and where he’s been and what he’s done, he's less freaked about it than he maybe should be.
He remembers the Chancellor calling him. Fox is the Chancellor’s official liaison, and Fox does his damn best to keep the rest of them out of his grip, and as such the call had been unusual, and he remembers being surprised by it. Remembers stepping into the blood red room of the Chancellor’s office, seeing the slow spread of a smile across the old man’s face, and remembers no more.
