Hermione Granger must be suffering from hypothermia or something, because her cheeks are still red, her knees feel like jelly, and she’s having trouble forming complete sentences. The freezing water of the Black Lake slowly drips from her hair, sending a full-body shiver down her spine and leaving a circular puddle beneath her feet.
She's so cold. Hermione stumbles a little, and Viktor quickly wraps a supportive arm around her waist, staring down at her with a serious expression. His hands are rough and calloused from years of maneuvering a broomstick, but his touch is still gentle and comforting. Hermione shivers again, but it’s certainly not from the chilly weather.
“Are you sure you’re alright? I can grab your school nurse.”
No, Hermione certainly isn’t feeling alright. But, unfortunately, there’s nothing Madam Pomfrey can do about the sickly sweet feelings building up in her chest.
