Not bad but not good but never good for long but never rock bottom.
A cycle that just keeps going keeps getting tighter keeps constricting around you burning hot like sunburn from a shrinking spotlight until you're stuck center stage and you can't move.
You can feel them pressing around you the harder you try to ignore them. Your friends. If you raised your eye, would you do it at just the wrong time - would you find them looking at you? You don't think they even want to see you, really. They just can't seem to leave the blinding stage, just like you can't.
You need to move. You need to do something other than stay here.
Passing over the spotlight.. might be the only way you can make yourself disappear from it.

Summary
Four year olds don't belong in dungeons. Four year olds also don't belong anywhere near Schezo, the Dark Mage. Not for any particularly concerning reason anywhere based in reality, but it's the principle of it. The principle being that if little Arle had any magic worth noting at all, she would be in more danger with him than scuttling around the dungeon all on her own.
Alas. Four year olds without their parents apparently deem it appropriate to do whatever they want to do. For Arle, it seems that means stepping on the ends of his cape.
(In which Arle stumbles across Schezo when she is littol tiny creachur and Schezo doesn't try to kill her so she's like wow! Her four year old brain is getting so much serotonin from all the attention she's getting.)

Summary
It’s much too obvious, in hindsight. Apparently most things with Siffrin are.
Nobody had thought twice about him being slow to wake no matter how much he slept; about how he used Craft to make up the time, not interrogating what could possibly be making him fall behind in the first place. They’d accepted the times when he chose sleep over exploration, sleep over idle chats, sleep over snacks.
They’d had enough pieces of the puzzle. They just hadn’t put them all together. Yet again.
