“Who the hell are you?” Hunter demands, the first to collect himself enough to speak.
The Crosshair-lookalike smirks. “Do you want to tell them or should I?”
The Hunter-lookalike sits up, flushed and breathless and aroused but still manages to look relatively composed. “We’re from the future,” he tells them. “Crosshair and I.”

The Chancellor has been assassinated, and the Bad Batch is sent to bring in the assassins. What they find is older versions of themselves who have been changed and broken almost beyond recognition. Bringing them in is the right thing to do, but when turning them over to Republic justice means certain death, can they really go through with it? And if they don’t, what then?

Summary
Crosshair was beautiful.
There was simply no other way to say it.
Hunter didn’t need to frame it with modifiers like ‘unconventional’, or ‘surprising’ or words that tried to make sense of something as if truth needed a contextual crutch. Crosshair’s entire life was one perpetual, extended sneer at crutches and any fool who deigned to bring one up.
But now, settled in the couch near the window, long legs stretched into their relaxed, ridiculous angles, book in hand, quietly reading as snow pattered softly on the windowpanes, he looked…
He looked soft.

Wilson snorted, a quick, breathy sound of relief. “You’re awfully confident for a man drinking alone in a ratty bar.”
“Come on. I’ll tell you all about the Yangtze. Or the Amazon, if that’s what you’re into. Or the old growth forests on the west coast and their towering red cedars — what’s left of them, anyway. I’ve seen it all.”
“Really?”
“Really. Dad was in the Expeditionary Force, Terran division. I spent my childhood on different GEF bases. I’m not jerking you around.” He accompanied this with a suggestive eyebrow waggle, which earned him another snort, this time more exasperated than relieved.

Summary
Echo has been told a lot of things concerning his place with the four amazing women he is blessed to have in his life. Most of it, he just brushed aside. The only thing he hated was whenever someone was telling him he was too lucky to be with them, and then proceeded to treat them like a sexual object. He didn't understand though, why his loves were more pissed off about people saying Echo wasn't worth them then they were the sexist bullshit. It was true, after all.
Or: A mission at a gala gives the Bad Batch a perfect opportunity to help Echo's extreme lack of self-confidence.
