Summary
“Will, dude, I’m not possessed.” Isaac shuffles his feet, tracking crushed snow on the carpet from the bottom of his sneakers. “I’m fine.”
“I believe you,” William says, like he totally doesn’t believe him. Which is fair, frankly, because that’s definitely something someone who's possessed would say, and also because it’s the middle of the night and Isaac has just shown up at his window in the first snow of the season. Even in the relative warmth of the Wisp’s basement, he’s shivering.
Over the course of their friendship, the rest of the Unwitness Protection Program learn some unfortunate truths about Isaac's family situation. Isaac, on the other hand, learns how to smash a car window, which bathrooms at school are the best to throw up in, and that he might love his friends more than he's ever loved his father.

Summary
The lights flicker back on just as Isaac's trying to fall asleep. He doesn't get up to turn them off. He breathes out and tries to get comfortable without his blankets getting anywhere near his face.
"Hey, God," he says, tentative, mumbling to his ceiling. "Sorry for blowing up a church today. In all fairness, I guess I almost died. Dude, that's a good enough reason for you, right?"
After killing the Striga, Isaac has a bad day. Couple days. Weeks.

Summary
Izuku is five years old the first time he's saved by heroes. He's an instant fan of the woman in pink with her cheerful smile and the man with his ice powers and fine-boned features, even if they both refuse to tell him their names.
For most of his life, Izuku has been the centre of villain attacks, but he has never been injured. Every time, he's saved by bright, unknown heroes—heroes who smile at Izuku, and ruffle his hair or ply him with hugs, and seem mesmerised by how small he is.
Heroes that the rest of the world doesn't believe exists.
