Summary
Summary: We already know how power-hungry Danzo was during the reign of the third Hokage, the blind faith of his friend that he used to create his own personal army under the clean image that Konaha had amongst the hidden villages, and we know exactly how that turned out. What if a few things were different, small things that changed the future?
We know that the Nara clan was known for its genius, the advisors to the Hokage, but we never heard of a missing-nin from this clan, no breakdowns, no massacres.
Why? Because the Nara took care of its own, if one went out of control, the clan put them down. But it is not loyalty that keeps them in the village, it’s not any kind of ties that hold this ancient clan submissive compared to the prideful Hyuuga or Uchiha. The only reason no one ever sees a motivated Nara is because they do not leave anyone alive to witness it. They devour everything in their path, like the shadows that make up their bodies.
It's best to be underestimated, and every Nara knows that to hide their genius behind laziness and so the clan was ignored by the mechanics of Danzo, but what if he grew too confident and too power-hungry? What if he took the clan heir?This is the consequence.
