He tires of indulging the rage and pain in his chest by inflicting it on his maker. He knows himself to be capable of changing his mind and actions for the better, but is his maker willing or able to do the same?

Summary
Several months after the peaceful, albeit successful rebellion of the androids, Detroit has slowly but surely been returning to normalcy. Or at least a very different shade of normal with the new freedom and equal rights of the androids. Balance seems to be prevailing, but it never lasts long.
"Before Gavin could come up with a response, Connor opened the door to the glass office once again, followed by what could have been his exact copy. The first thing he saw was a spinning blue LED and piercing grey eyes. If he had known his day was going to be this shitty he would have stayed in bed. For a year."

“William…is not here,” Adam says, blinking slowly. The room becomes a touch more stifling with the rippling heat of the fire. Her handsome creature seems quite uncertain but remains interested all the same, Elizabeth privately notes, if the wide dilation of the black iris that flashes gold is any indicator.
“No, and he’ll be gone for nearly a fortnight,” she says softly, bringing up her other hand to clasp them around Adam’s long, graceful palm. “Did you expect to leave me to sleep alone in my marriage bed for the next two weeks? William certainly didn’t.”

“Why do you wear that collar?” the witcher asks.
Jaskier startles. He’s been fiddling with it, he realises, a nervous habit. He didn’t think the witcher had noticed, even though those golden eyes seem to spot most things.
“It’s so people know what I am,” he says.
“And what are you?” the witcher says. His tone has turned surprisingly gentle. Perhaps he can hear the misery in Jaskier’s voice.
“Bound in service,” Jaskier explains. He tries on a smile. “It might not look like it, but I’m as much of a prisoner as you are.”
Jaskier didn’t exactly plan to escape from his master alongside a terrifying witcher. But it might turn out to be one of his better decisions.
