Summary

Now, with the murderous politics of the Fae heating up, Julia will soon learn that, in sorcery as in science, simple questions can sometimes have very dangerous answers. She is on the cusp of ultimate knowledge: a theory of magic that would explain what has become of the world and how it can be reversed—but asking the wrong question may well unravel reality itself.

The setting diverges from official canon regarding the New Republic era in several places. Everything from the films are canon to this fic, but with a mix of elements from Canon, Legends and Star Wars: Visions added for good measure.

Last Light was one of many BDSM clubs in Baldur's Gate, but one could argue it was the best place in the city to introduce someone new to the kink community. In fact, Astarion had argued that on more than one occasion. The fight is over and Astarion has settled in with Gale. The new rhythm of life in Waterdeep is safe and easy. Safe enough to explore the past in the new ways. Safe enough to submit.
Safe. And yet, memories crept through his mind. It was hard to drown out the blaring fires of two hundred years with a few years of peace. A puddle against a pyre. Perhaps, Astarion thought, one day he would forget it all. He had forgotten the color of his own eyes. There may be a day when he forgot Cazador’s face, or lost his mental map of the palace. A day when the palace itself had crumbled to dust and some new guild leader or lord built upon it and all the city's records crumbled to dust and nobody, nobody, remembered Cazador. That day did not seem to be coming any time soon.
Astarion had fought horrors beyond his comprehension, and more, horrors beyond Gale’s comprehension. There had to be a faster way. A way to fight the past head on.

What if Astarion didn’t end up on the Nautiloid, but one of his siblings did instead?
Tav and their party take down Cazador for their companion Dalyria and Astarion is among the spawn who are freed. Once liberated, Astarion decides to use his skills in seduction to get himself a job at the Sharess' Caress, where Tav finds him again after they defeat the Netherbrain. Tav's party seeks a cure for vampirism that requires all of Dalyria's siblings, so Astarion aids them in the quest between his brothel shifts.
As finding a cure becomes complicated and dangerous, Astarion joins the party and works through his feelings about transactional sex, especially in light of his developing feelings for Tav. For once, Astarion is the one to be seduced.
