    Megumi thinks he has always been good at reading people, good at taking in everything around him and deciding whatever would benefit him more at the moment. He can’t tell if he has just been sharp naturally or it came with the whole absent dad deal he had going on. Not that he would ever admit the second option.
    But no matter how observant he might have been, he was still a kid, so maybe at that time he didn’t have a word for what he was seeing. Years later as he remembered, he would say the first thing he really noticed was that Satoru looked incomplete.
