Somehow, the closer they got, the harder Beard found it to read Ted. Suddenly he was full of questions when before he could intuit answers without the struggle of trying to learn how to verbalise something right. He’d be millimetres away from Ted’s face, kissing the blush of his cheeks, and he’d learn the importance of perspective because he couldn’t read all of Ted from this distance. He pulled back, looked at Ted’s downturned eyes, something that looked coyish from up close, and he swore under his breath.

Summary
The headlines have been pitching this game like it’s a WWF match: Coach vs Coach; Lasso vs Shelley. Just the thought of it is enough to make his stomach cramp even worse. Ted’s never been a fan of wrestling; no matter how much everyone assured him it was all fake, they sure looked like they were in pain.
Ted and Nate see each other for the first time since the final match against Brentford. Ted wants to find the right words to fix things and Nate doesn’t care what Ted thinks of him anymore because he’s outgrown all of that.
