Summary
After Benson has smoked a cigarette, leaning against the car, they leave the liquor store but don’t get too far. Benson follows the road alongside the abandoned field until they reach a wooded area. Benson puts the car in park and kills the engine. In the dying sunlight, he looks more tired than he has all day. More vulnerable. Except for when he was punching the–
“Ever been drunk, Randy?” asks Benson, interrupting Randy’s train of thoughts (as if he had known what he had been thinking about, because Benson always seems at least a step ahead of him).
Randy must’ve been lost in his thoughts a little too long, because Benson snaps his fingers at him. “Come on, I asked you a question here.”
“No, Benson.”
—Or: After leaving Miss Beard's house together, Benson decides they're going to drink. It's not like Randy can say no. It's not like he wants to say no anyway.

Summary
He makes her turn to face him. He is stronger, she can sense it in the air, in the way her limbs are totally unresponsive. His arm is raised towards her, his gloved fingers trembling. His jaw is clenching hard and his eyes are furious. This is not Ben Solo approaching her slowly, menacingly; no, Kylo Ren is the one facing her right now, closing the distance between them.
Contrary to what she initially believed, Rey realizes she will probably not get out of this alive.
“Scavenger”, he spits out, “finally.”(Set after TLJ. I basically wanted to get to the good part fast, so there's barely any story. Angst and fluff and whatnot. Enjoy!)

Summary
In the next ten minutes before Randy is set to clock out, he learns more about Benson than he has in the last year of them working together.
Benson’s ‘ma’ is moving out of his house today; he explains to Donnie. Her sister (my Aunt Marnie, that bitch) is getting divorced from her deadbeat husband and wants “Ma” to move with her back to Florida. Benson is not just relieved by this news; he’s transcendently ecstatic.
Only problem is, Benson can’t swing the bills and rent on his own.

The man with hair hanging over his dark eyes and one hand covering an entire tallboy beer can is thirty two. That’s fine. Randy’s fine.

Summary
Randy has struggled to keep his head above water for nearly four years, and when he runs into his coworker in the steam room at the public pool, everything he tried to keep down resurfaces.
None of it is Benson’s fault.
Randy was a swimmer in high school. He’s not anymore. A locker room is kind of like a closet.

Summary
The offering is never for the god's benefit. Gods don't need pens. Gods don't need lambs, or the grain, or the wine poured into dirt. The offering is a transaction- worshippers buying the illusion of safety, and the god accepts because the acceptance is what keeps them coming back. Keep accepting and they keep giving. Keep taking the small things and eventually they'll give you the big things. Their harvest. Their firstborn.
Their throat.
Brendon Park is a patient man. That's the worst thing about him.
