If Suguru used to think about his best friend a lot, now it’s blown past any semblance of rationality.
You taste good, Satoru had slurred into his neck. Suguru dreams about it probably every night. Probably, every night he dreams of the way Satoru sounds when his voice breaks on a moan, when his lips let past a plea.

Satoru seems fine to keep on living as they always have, even after they'd damn-near almost hooked up, coming back home from a party. Suguru has wanted him for so long, that one taste sends him spiraling.

That it scared you when you realized how i felt about you." He says, softly, like that's not completely heartbreaking, to think he ever doubted how Suguru could feel about him. Even if Suguru did spend the better part of his life keeping it a secret.
"I kissed you back." Suguru mumbles, kind of dumbly, raising up to meet his eyes.
Satoru smiles, eyes wrinkling, tucking a stray strand of hair behind Suguru's ear.
"You were drunk." He says. "And you stopped us."
"Because it means too much to me. I couldn't- couldn't let it happen that way."
Satoru smiles, like that's kind of sad, and like he's in love anyway. Suguru is starting to piece together what love looks like in Satoru’s eyes, starting to realize it’s a completely familiar sight.

Summary
He thinks of the boy with the white hair. He thinks how he could not have loved him more. He thinks how he would have, given the chance, loved him better.
Perhaps this is him being given the chance.
He sits up, to find him, maybe, and abruptly realises Satoru is in his own room, in his own house, down the block. He blinks harshly until his memories start aligning with reality and distancing from his dream.
Yeah- Satoru's in his house, where he's lived for as long as Suguru's known him. He's not in the dorm next door. Suguru's never lived in a dormitory. He lays back down.

Satoru blinks, breath catching. Suguru’s words are too raw, too heavy, too real.
“I knew I was playing with fire when I offered to be with you,” he goes on, stepping closer. “Because I knew, Satoru. I knew you wouldn’t leave my mind.”
His voice trembles now, low and urgent.
“I’ve been going crazy.”

Summary
So Suguru’s moving to kiss him— big deal. His breath smells like alcohol, and Satoru should find it gross but he doesn’t. Suguru turns his chin just slowly enough for Satoru to change his mind, but all Satoru does it comply, letting Suguru’s hand guide him towards him with mischief in his eyes and a small smile, and it’s just not a big deal, they’re just fucking around: Satoru feels fully confident about the lightheartedness of this moment right up until the very second Suguru slots their lips together.

Or: One kiss is all it takes to make the dam crumble, to make Satoru ache for things he doesn't understand. All he craves is to keep taking pleasure from Suguru, and he can't seem to put together why Suguru's indulging him.
