When he turns to face Anakin, he smiles. But it is like no expression Anakin has ever seen on his master’s face. Even with closed lips, there is something sharp about the look of it. Dangerous and cold, for all that there is genuine amusement there too. Like Anakin could cut himself on it, like Obi-Wan wants him to.
And his eyes, when they meet Anakin’s, are gold.
Obi-Wan falls under the influence of the dark side of the Force after messing with something he shouldn't in a mysterious temple. Immediately suspicious, Anakin places himself in charge of watching over him, just he case he does something, you know, evil. But this version of Obi-Wan doesn't seem interested in taking over the galaxy. He is interested in Anakin.

Sometimes Anakin wondered.
He hungered to understand the shifts in his Master—the subtle changes in shadows and light—and he hungered to be there for him in the same way Obi-Wan had always been there for him. He had to prove he was a grown man: capable, strong, and above all, reliable. He could share the burdens. He could swallow the pain. He could be whatever Obi-Wan needed.
“Literally anything,” Anakin whispers, his mind finally shutting down as sleep claims him.
OR: Anakin has a very vivid dream about taking everything his Master has to give. So what if there are two of them? Strength in numbers, right? It's not as if he can't handle it.

“It’s alright. You wouldn’t be the first. I have been telling you that this isn’t necessary for everyone. And… I’ll not make you, of course,” he reassured, delivering the final, devastating note of his narrative. “You know where the door is.”
Obi-Wan truly believed the boy would take the way out. Instead, Anakin had never slammed a door closed faster in his life.
