Summary
The murder of the wife and child of prolific psychic Patrick Jane was all the news seemed to talk about for months following the incident. Everyone and their mother knows who Patrick Jane is…and who he’s lost.
Jane doesn’t understand why everyone feels the need to bring it up—why they act as if they have the right to talk about him or his family.
Still, he can never quite bring himself to tell them off.
The team has no such reservations.
Or, four times a member of the team stands up for Jane, and one time Jane does it himself.

Tom looked up from his notebook.
He’d like to know the same thing, honestly. Two days ago, Alex was shipped off by those MI6—Special Ops, or whatever, it didn’t matter—jerks to some crazy school in the middle of nowhere with a new identity and all the danger in the world nipping at his heels.
Or, the one where Tom has to go to school and pretend that everything is fine and that he’s not about to have a mental breakdown. Also, everyone wants to give Alex a card, and Tom is the designated gopher.

Alex sighed in relief. “I’m so glad. If anything happened to you, I’d never forgive myself. You know that?” he said smiling, reaching a hand out to help his friend up.
Tom froze.
Suddenly, he wasn’t on the fresh spring grass, he was on the school library floor. Alex—not Alex, just that stupid clone—stood over him with a makeshift bat. He knew those words. He’d heard them before.
Or, about a week after the events of Season 1, Tom and Alex play a game a football, Tom has a flashback, and Alex helps him through it.

Summary
A series of mostly disconnected one-shots (usually from Tom’s perspective) that take place before, during, between seasons, and/or after the tv series.
Also, Tom is captain of the football team in this series, and Alex is on the track team (just because Alex has hardly any time to play football tbh). They’re both around 15/16 years-old instead of 14 to stay more in line with what I think their ages are in the show.
