Summary
Sonic the Hedgehog had been dead for the last 200 years. Metal Sonic's purpose was fulfilled, and the robot was therefore doomed to wander the barren hellscape that the planet had become for the rest of eternity.
That is, until stumbling upon a child within an abandoned building.
(what if, instead of Shadow, it was Metal Sonic who found Silver in the ruined future?)

Summary
Shadow the Hedgehog was designed to protect humanity. Metal Sonic was built to destroy Sonic the Hedgehog. By all accounts, they should be two sides of the same coin; creations of mankind with an intended designation.
However, there is one thing that separates them: autonomy.
Shadow must endure the task to give Metal the freedom he deserves, and Metal must endure the task of finding out who he really is. The only thing stopping them is a vindictive enemy that the two of them have seemingly met before...
