Summary
Mydei had been acting off lately, dodgy even. It wasn't hard to figure out that the werewolf was suddenly avoiding Phainon ever since their last spar almost a week ago. Phainon didn't know what he'd done, but couldn't Mydei just tell him what he did wrong like he usually did?
Phainon was determined to figure out what the problem was, and if it was because Mydei realized that Phainon was no longer qualified to be his mate he'd like to know thank you very much!
So imagine his surprise when one second he was being propositioned by one of his frequent customers at the antique shop he sometimes worked at, and the next the prince suddenly had Phainon’s back pinned against the wall as he ravished him like he'd been starved. In hindsight, Phainon really should have known Mydei's odd behavior lately had to do with his rut.

How do you forget past transgressions when they've melded themselves into your very being? How do you forgive yourself when your soul never lets you forget? How could the one you loved the most, still bare to look at you like you hung the stars up into the sky? How does one live a new life, while still being haunted by the millions of past ones?
Phainon didn't know, but he wanted to try... titans did he want to try. Despite everything he'd done in past lives, Mydei still found him again. Their meeting hadn't been perfect, far from it. However, despite the things he'd done, the lives he'd taken... Mydei had still chosen him in this life. Phainon will doubt, will question, will hate himself, but he will NEVER give up. Mydei won't let him.

The words make Qifrey flinch. If Olruggio focuses, he can remember him saying—

Oh, but Olruggio does not care. This man he loves, this silly man, so stubborn in his strange selflessness he is unable to see, is all Olruggio— is all Olruggio is. Were it possible, he would bury himself within his open ribs, and curl up there and never move again. His heart aches and his eyes water.
Or. Olruggio and Qifrey are stuck in a snowstorm, and Olruggio doesn't know why.
Qifrey is hurt.
What Olruggio does know, is how to fix it.
(It's not the first time he has to burn someone's wound shut.)

“Wanna bet on it?” he asks.
Mydei raises a brow, then, narrows his eyes.
“Bet on what?” he asks suspiciously, not unlike how one pokes a sleeping tiger.
“Bet that you can plan better dates,” Phainon says. “That you’re a better lover.”
Mydei scoffs.
“Against that male alpha? Any decent human being would win.”
Phainon pauses, an idea forming in his head. And it’s such a bad idea. Such a stupid idea. But, it could be fun. And Mydei has always indulged his stupid ideas.
“What about against me?” he asks.
(Phainon and Mydei have always been known for their competitions. It's the basis of their almost four year friendship. There's no reason they can't also compete over who's the better date either.)

The only thing in the Great Hall Qifrey thought worth keeping by his side was Olruggio, but, well…
That was the whole reason he was leaving, wasn’t it?
Or: Qifrey thinks leaving Olruggio is the solution to his Leafy Little Problem. Unfortunately for him, Olruggio isn’t letting him go that easily.
Based on a fun little thought I had where: what if Qifrey actually tried leaving multiple times, but only succeeded after graduating (which is when he realized it wouldn’t work anyway)
Also featuring: Olruggio’s massive savior complex
Or: I just wanted to write 6k of these two crying over their horribly doomed situation. They both need a good cry. Especially Qifrey, but Olly too
