Summary
The world looks very different after the Sunshot Campaign was won by Qishan Wen. The Qishan Wen Sect suffered great losses but still maintained its position, helped inevitably by Lanling Jin's support - at the last moment, the sect leader decided to change the front, concluding that he would gain more by allying himself with Qishan Wen, who was already gaining dominance on the battlefield.
Cloud Recesses is the last place where sect members who oppose Qishan Wen's demands can take refuge. Weak, defeated, trying to maintain their positions and still believing in a better future. It's not easy when Wei Wuxian seems to be slipping further and further into madness, the rest of the people are beginning to doubt victory, and an unimaginable burden rests on the shoulders of the young sect leaders.
Jiang Wanyin and Lan Xichen are saddled with the responsibility for the further fate of the Sunshot Campaign, while Nie Mingjue tries to heal his wounds and grief over his missing brother, for whom a trace has been lost.
Things soon become even more complicated, with decidedly unexpected guests standing outside the walls of the Gusu Lan residence.

What a gripping fic. I found this at 1am randomly and a few weeks later also at 1am I have finished reading it. The build up was amazing! Their relationship just flowed so naturally.
Also I just love the Wens in this they really just made this for me!
